The Election Commission of Pakistan held under the Chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner, Irshad Hasan Khan, has announced that Thursday, October 10, 2002, would be a public holiday throughout Pakistan.

The aforementioned date corresponds to the polling day for the forthcoming general elections for the National Assembly and the four provincial assemblies.
