Guyana Assembly To Consider 2 New Public Holidays

Guyana's Minister of Home Affairs, Ronald Gajraj, has announced that during the Seventh Sitting of the Eighth Parliament, starting next week, he would move a motion for the Assembly to establish a Special Select Committee to review Guyana's list of official public holidays.

The most widely discussed possible additions to the list of public holidays appointed by the Public Holidays Act, Chapter 19:07 would be to include Independence Day and the East Indian Arrival Day to Guyana, as official national public holidays.
