A resolution by Uzbekistan's government has declared Friday, January 21, 2005, as a non-working public holiday on the occasion of the upcoming Id al-Adha festival.

The date specified in the aforementioned decree was adopted at the request of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, as usual (2002-02-18 and 2001-02-23), although the declaration of the Id al-Adha public holiday stems from the presidential decree of June 20, 1991 (the Presidential Resolution "On announcing Kurban Hayit as day-off").
