The Governor of the Cayman Islands has signed the Public Holidays Order, 2006 which, exceptionally, sets the date of the 2006 Queen's Birthday public holiday on Monday, June 12, 2006.

The order further amends last year's Public Holidays Law (2005 Revision) (2005-07-12) by redefining the date of the Queen's Birthday public holiday as "the Monday following the Saturday appointed in the United Kingdom as the official birthday of the reigning sovereign" in the revised version of paragraph 6-1.

However, as mentioned above, for 2006, the paragraph 6-2 supersedes paragraph 6-1 by making Monday, June 12, 2006, the date of the Queen's Birthday public holiday.
