Guyana Declares August 28 Public Holiday

The Presisent of Guyana, Bharrat Jagdeo, has authorized the Ministry of Home Affairs to gazette Monday, August 28, 2006 as a one-off public holiday.

This was done to ensure orderly election day activities.
