The Government has announced a public holiday on Friday (today) to mark the endorsement of the historic House Proclamation 2063 BS, to dramatically cut King Gyanendra's powers and turn him into a figurehead leader, by the reinstated House of Representatives (HOR).

It is unclear how these recent developments will affect the other holidays in Nepal, and whether this holiday will recur every year.
