Philippines Postpones ASEAN Summit And Public Holidays

The Asean summit, originally scheduled this week, has been tentatively rescheduled for January 11 to 14, 2007, amidst the issuance of travel advisories by Britain, the United States, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

These centered on the fear of typhoon Seniang (international code name: Utor), though weaker than the destructive Milenyo and Reming, was predicted to make a landfall on the weekend when the summit participants were expected to arrive.
