The Algerian public sector ministry (Direction Générale de la Fonction Publique) has announced that Wednesday and Thursday, December 19-20, 2007, had been declared as paid non-working public holidays (journées chômées et payées) on account of the upcoming Aïd El-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice).
The aforementioned declaration of Wednesday and Thursday, December 19-20, 2007, as paid non-working public holidays follows an earlier communiqué by the Algerian Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments (Ministère des Affaires religieuses et du Wakf) and is in line with the "loi n° 63-278 du 26 juillet 1963" which regulates non-working public holidays in Algeria.
