Bangladesh's leadership will pay tributes to the country's founding father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, the anniversary of his assassination in 1975. But it will not be a national public holiday.
Last week, a writ petition had been filed with the High Court (HC), asking it to issue directives reinstating August 15 as the National Day of Mourning and a public holiday (2007-08-06).
