Late last night, after a meeting of the Council of Advisers, chaired by chief adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed, the interim government of Bangladesh announced that the November 7th public holiday would be canceled, starting in 2008.
By a Cabinet decision of late 2001 (2001-12-24), the annual public holidays of March 17 and August 15 had been canceled, while the November 7 public holiday has been re-instated.
