Croatia Declares September 3 Day Of National Mourning

The government of Croatia proclaimed Monday, September 3, 2007, a day of national mourning, following the death, last night, of a seventh of the firemen that had recently battled the wildfire on the Adriatic island of Kornat.

The district of Sibenik, where tragedy occurred, proclaimed seven days of mourning.
