Gabon Announces May 1st Public Holiday

Gabon's Ministre du Travail et de l'Emploi has announced that Tuesday, May 1st, 2007, had been declared a non-working public holiday ("journée fériée, chômée et payée sur toute l'étendue du territoire national").

This announcement seems to be a simple confirmation of an annual public holiday enshrined in the 1998 "Decree No. 727/PR/MTEFP to regulate Public Holidays in the Republic of Gabon" (1998-06-29), and left unchanged by the subsequent "Décret, n°000484/PR/MTE du 26 mai 2004, portant modification de l'article 2 du décret n°000727/PR/MTEFP du 2 Juin 1998" (2004-05-26).
