The Macedonian Parliament adopted, today, the Bill on Amending the Law on State Holidays.
The new provisions, in contrast to past years (2006-01-02), provide for introduction of a number of new holidays, the celebration of the eve of some existing holidays, and some faith-specific holidays.
However, some two-day holiday observances will now be reduced to only one day. In addition, the Government has tabled four amendments referring to marking holidays of the Roma, Serbian, Bosnian and Vlach communities living in Macedonia.
