Malta Declares Dun Gorg Preca’s Canonization Public Holiday

The Minister for Education, Youths and Employment, Louis Galea, has declared the day a public holiday for all state, church and independent schools, on June 4th, 2007, the day after Dun Gorg Preca's canonization.

The relic consisting in the blood of Dun Gorg Preca in a glass tube will be taken to Rome for canonization led by Archbishop Paul Cremona. On its return to Malta, the relic of the Saint will be displayed for the veneration of the public, both in Malta and Gozo.
