Uzbekistan Announces Eid al-Adha Public Holiday Date

President Islam Karimov signed the resolution "On celebrating the Kurban-hayit (the Eid al-Adha) in Uzbekistan", which sets the date of Wednesday, December 19, 2007, for the upcoming Eid al-Adha public holiday.

The festival of Eid al-Adha was made a national non-working public holiday as per the Decree of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On announcing Ruza Hayit a day off" No.UP-368 of March 27, 1992, and is regularly declared as such by presidential resolution (2006-12-22).
