The Algerian Moon Sighting Committee (Commission nationale d'observation du croissant lunaire) has announced that the upcoming End of Ramadan public holiday would be on Wednesday, October 1st, 2008.

As usual the date announced for the End of Ramadan public holiday ranges from the early Lybian one of September 30 (26-Sep-2008) to the late date of October 2 of Turkmenistan (30-Sep-2008), with many countries side-stepping the issue by declaring a multi-day public holiday that covers all possibilities (29-Sep-2008, 28-Sep-2008, and 28-Sep-2008).
