The President of Romania, Traian Basescu, sent the request for a review of the recent law amending the Labor Code, asking for the introduction of an additional annual public holiday on August 15, the date of the Assumption.

A law passed last month (18-Mar-2008) had already added 2 new annual public holidays, starting in 2008, to the official list of public holidays in Romania; the first and second day of Pentecost.
