Brazil Now Considering Moving Mid-Week Public Holidays To Mondays

Source: Agência Senado Federal (Brasilia)

Brazilian senator, Roberto Cavalcanti (PRB-PB), has introduced new legislation that would move all mid-week public holidays (civil and religious) to the nearest Monday.

A similar bill, moving some mid-week public holidays to Mondays, was introduced in 2007 (2007-07-11 and 2007-11-27) and seems to have died for lack of attention.

More recently, a bill that would have moved some mid-week public holidays to Fridays was introduced and rejected (2009-04-09 and 2009-05-06).
