Guinea's Junta Confirms Status Of April 3rd Public Holiday

Guinea's military junta has announced that it had decided to maintain the annual April 3rd public holiday that marks the anniversary of the putsch by late President Lansana Conté, in 1984.

President Lansana Conté died last December. Friday, December 26, 2008, the day of his state funeral was declared a one-off public holiday (2008-12-25), as was February 6, 2009, the 40th day after his death (2009-02-05).
