Honduras' Secretaría de Gobernación y Justicia has been petitioned by both the private and public sectors to declare next Monday, November 30, 2009, as a one-off public holiday.

This would enable people who had to go back to their village to vote on Sunday, to return to the cities and resume work on Tuesday morning. However the president of the ANndi, Adolfo Facussé, says that the request only has a remote chance of being granted.
