Honduras' President, Roberto Micheletti, has declared tomorrow, Thursday, October 15, 2009, a one-off public holiday to celebrate today's national football team qualification for next year's World Cup in South Africa.

In a similar vein, last spring (03-Apr-2009), the Government of Honduras had added one day to the annual 9-day Holy Week public holidays given to the public sector, to mark the "triumph" of the Honduras football team against Mexico.
