Macau's Chief Executive has declared a one-off public holiday for Wednesday, February 17, 2010.

This announcement, following a trend started a few years ago (2004-05-21, 2006-01-16, 2007-01-31, and 2007-03-13), was made under the purview of the "Decree Law No. 60/2000 on Public Holidays", and is presumably meant to compensate the fact that the first day of the annual Lunar New Year's Day public holiday for 2010, falls on a weekend, and will allow for a 4th day extension to the annual, 3-day, Lunar New Year public holiday.
