Malawi Denies May 18 Public Holiday Rumours

In a radio interview this morning, Malawi's former minister of local government and rural development, George Chaponda, denied reports that 18 May has been declared a public holiday.

Rumours had been circulating that 18 May has been declared a public holiday, to allow citizens to prepare for the 19 May general elections.
