Niger Announces End of Ramadan Public Holiday

Niger's Ministère de la Fonction Publique et du Travail has published a communiqué declaring Sunday, September 20, 2009, as the date of the upcoming Aïd Al fit'r public holiday.

Note that, as per the loi N° 2006-08 du 2 mai 2006 (2006-05-09), fixed-date public holidays that fall on a Sunday no longer give rise to a day in lieu public holiday on the following Monday. Therefore, Monday, September 21, 2009, will not be an official public holiday in Niger.

Once again, the announced date follows the Saudi Umm al-Qura calendar.
