Philippines President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has backtracked on the planned one-day special non-working public holiday announced earlier this week, to clean-up after tropical storm "Ondoy".

Instead of the planned one-day special non-working public holiday (2009-09-29), through Administrative Order 270, it was decided to mobilize government employees to help in the cleanup operations in areas affected by floods.
