The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, has signed the Resolution "On shifting day-off from Saturday, December 5, 2009 onto Monday, December 7, 2009", which declares Monday, December 7, 2009, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Uzbekistan.

As usual in such cases of declaring one-off non-working public holidays in Uzbekistan (2008-12-25, 2007-12-25, 2006-05-01, 2005-12-28 and 2005-12-05), the aforementioned non-working public holiday is to be compensated by having Satuday, December 5, 2009, declared a regular working day in Uzbekistan.

The net result will be a 3-day weekend as Tuesday, December 8, 2009, is already the date of the "Constitution Day" annual non-working public holiday.
