Afghanistan Declares 2-Day Jirga Public Holidays

Afghanistan's President, Hamid Karzai, has declared Wednesday and Thursday, June 2 and 3, 2010, as one-off public holidays on account of the peace jirga being conducted on those 2 days.

Recall that, since last spring, the Afghan weekend lasts for 2 full days; Thursday and Friday.
