Ghana's Minister of the Interior, Martin Amidu, has announced that Tuesday, May 25, 2010, would be a statutory public holiday throughout the country, on account of the upcoming African Union Day.
Such last-minute re-confirmations of public holidays are common in Ghana, although it seems particularly frequent for the May 25 public holiday (2009-05-21 and 2007-05-19).
