Ghana's Interior Minister, Martin Amidu, has issued a communique dismissing rumours suggesting that Monday, October 25, 2010, had been declared a public holiday.

Minister Amidu was responding to widespread rumours suggesting that next Monday was a statutory holiday and should be observed as such. He went on to say that "I would have released a press statement to that effect if Monday was a holiday", as was done in the past (20-Sep-2010).
