The Commerce and Employment Department of the States of Guernsey (the Guernsey Government) has announced that it is discussing whether Guernsey will also have a public holiday for next year's royal wedding.

The UK (2010-11-23) and Scotland (2010-11-24) have already announced that April 29, 2011, will be a one-off public holiday, while Jersey (2010-11-22) and the Isle of Man (2010-11-24) are currently considering the idea.

Note that contrary to what was done in Jersey (2010-09-29) and the Isle of Man (2010-09-10), Guernsey has not, so far, declared a public holiday in 2012 for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee (2009-12-27).
