Such confirmation communiqués are a regular feature of Jordanian public holidays, as annual fixed-date public holidays are often moved to adjoin a weekend, in the years when they occur in mid-week. For example, last year, the observance of the very same, May 25, Independence Day public holiday, was moved from May 25 to the previous day (2009-05-19).
