Mozambique's Ministry of Labour (MITRAB) has released a press communiqué announcing an afternoon public sector holiday (concede tolerância de ponto) for Friday, December 31, 2010.

As was the case last week (2010-12-23), the aforementioned public sector holiday will begin at 12:00 noon to allow public sector employees to better prepare their commemoration of the end of the year and beginning of the next (visando permitir que as pessoas se preparem melhor para comemorarem condignamente o fim do ano de 2010 e o início de 2011).

Such year-end public sector holidays are reasonably common in Mozambique (2009-12-18 and 2008-12-29).
