Nicaragua Declares May 31st Public Holiday

Nicaragua's Ministry of Labour (MITRAB) has announced that Sunday, May 30, 2010, would be a public holiday on the occasion of this year's Mothers' Day (Día de las Madres).

To compensate this public holiday falling on a Sunday, MITRAB announced that Monday, May 31, 2010, would be a compensatory public sector holiday (los trabajadores del estado tendrán el lunes 31 de mayo como asueto con goce de Salario, para compensar el día domingo 30 de Mayo).
