The Russian Government has announced the Government Decree of 05.08.2010 N 600 "On the transfer of public holidays in 2011" (August 5, 2010), which specifies the official public holidays and bridge holidays in Russia for 2011.

As was done in previous years (2009-11-10, 2008-11-28, 2007-08-11, 2007-01-06, 2006-11-11, and 2005-12-28), whenever a fixed-date annual public holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, the preceding Monday or Friday will be declared a one-off bridge public holiday, to be compensated by declaring a nearby Saturday to be a regular working day.

The aforementioned resolution thus declares Monday, March 7, 2011, as a one-off bridge public holiday, to be compensated by the simultaneous declaration of Saturday, March 5, 2011, as a regular working day.
