Taiwan's Central Personnel Administration has finally published its list of 2011 public holidays, subdivided into: Weekends, Statutory and general national holidays, Particular Parties' Days, and Makeup holidays.

As usual (2009-08-17, 2008-11-21, 2007-09-13, 2006-11-20, 2005-11-21, 2004-11-25, 2003-11-04, 2002-11-26, 2001-11-26 and 2000-12-01) these public holidays are subdivided into many categories: Weekends, Statutory and general national holidays, Particular Parties' Days, Makeup holidays, and days in lieu ("Adjusts to holiday" and "Adjusts to work" dates).

The aforementioned announcement confirms the restoration of Children's Day as an official public holiday as had been announced by Taiwan's Interior Minister, Jiang Yi-Huah, last spring (2010-03-25 and 2010-02-24).

The final and official announcement of the 2011 Taiwanese public holidays comes much later in the year than that of last year (2009-08-17), although a draft calendar of 2011 Taiwanese public holidays had been released last summer (2010-08-31).

The delay seems to be due to the current review by Taiwan's Legislative Yuan's Judiciary, Organic Laws and Statutes Committee, of the draft bill on public holidays (2010-12-13 and 2010-05-22).
