Uganda Declares August 11 Public Holiday

Uganda's Information Minister, Kabakumba Masiko, has announced that Wednesday, August 11, 2010, had been declared a public holiday to coincide with the funeral of former president Godfrey Binaisa.

In a similar manner, in 2005, Uganda's members of parliament had recommended that the government declare Monday, October 24, 2005, the day late President Apollo Milton Obote was to be buried, a public holiday (2005-10-21).
