Uzbekistan Declares September 10 Public Holiday

The President of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, has signed a resolution "On celebration of Ramadan hait" which declares Friday, September 10, 2010, as the date of the upcoming non-working public holiday for the Eid ul-Fitr (End of Ramadan).

The decree was signed last night, based on the recommendation of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan that the first day of the upcoming Ramazan Hayit would be on September 10, 2010.
