Vanuatu's Head of State, President Iolu Johnson Abbil, has declared tomorrow, Tuesday, April 20, 2010, as a one-off regional public holiday in the Tongoa and Epi islands of Shefa Province.

At the behest of Vanuatu's Principal Electoral Officer, and in accordance with the Head of State's Act (Cap 114), election days have often been declared official non-working public holidays, as was done for the most recent presidential elections (2009-08-28) and the previous year's legislative elections (2008-09-01).
