This day in lieu public holiday was not included in last year's (2010-12-03) decision, signed by Prime Minister Artur Rasizade, specifying the official list of 2011 public holidays in Azerbaijan, although it is in line with the provisions of Article 105 of the Labor Code of Azerbaijan (2005-12-30).

Finally, Cabinet spokesperson, Akif Ali, announced that no bridge public holiday would be declared for International Women's Day, as has sometimes been done in the past.
