The Bonaire government has confirmed that the December 15, Kingdom Day, public holiday would remain a non-working public holiday in Bonaire.

The Kingdom Day, on December 15, became a new public holiday in the Netherlands Antilles, beginning in 2008 (2008-09-12 and 2008-05-09). To compensate for this new public holiday, Antilles' Day (October 21) ceased to be a public holiday, in the Netherlands Antilles, beginning in 2008.

The Netherlands Antilles split into 3 parts, in October 2010, and subsequently (2011-09-25) Curaçao announced that the, December 15, Kingdom Day public holiday would no longer be a public holiday in Curaçao.
