The government of Ecuador has announced an exceptional 5-day public holiday to be observed from Wednesday, November 2, until Sunday, November 6, 2011, inclusively.

As per the Decreto Ejecutivo Nº 885 signed by Ecuador's President, Rafael Correa, the day of Friday, November 4, 2011, will be made a non-working bridge public holiday so that it may join the weekend with the annual November 2 (Día de los Difuntos) and November 3 (Independencia de Cuenca) public holidays.

In compensation, Saturday, November 12, 2011, has been declared a regular working day throughout Ecuador, as often happens in such cases (22-Dec-2010) though not systematically (14-Oct-2010).
