Gambia's president, Yahya Jammeh, has declared Thursday, November 24, 2011, as a non-working public holiday throughout Gambia on account of the upcoming Presidential election.

Last time (18-Dec-2006), President Jammeh had declared December 18, 2006, a public holiday to celebrate his victory in the previous September elections (01-Dec-2006).
