The Ghanaian Ministry of the Interior has announced that Friday, May 25, 2011, would be a non-working public holiday throughout Ghana on account of the upcoming African Union Day.
The aforementioned announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Sector Minister, Dr Benjamin Kunbuor.
Such last-minute re-confirmations of public holidays are common in Ghana, although it seems particularly frequent for the May 25 public holiday (2010-05-21, 2009-05-21 and 2007-05-19).
