Jordanian Prime Minister, Marouf Bakhit, has issued a communiqué declaring Wednesday, May 25, 2011, as the date of the upcoming Independence Day non-working public holiday throughout Jordan.
Such confirmation communiqués are a regular feature of Jordanian public holidays, (2010-05-17) as annual fixed-date public holidays are often moved to adjoin a weekend, in the years when they occur in mid-week.
For example, in 2009, the observance of the very same, May 25, Independence Day public holiday, was moved from May 25 to the previous day (2009-05-19).
