The Labor Ministry of Kyrgyzstan has announced that Friday, May 6, 2011, had been declared a one-off non-working public holiday in Kyrgyzstan.

Declaring Friday, May 6, 2011, a one-off non-working public holiday will create a 4-day weekend in Kyrgyzstan, when combined with the upcoming Constitution Day of the Kyrgyz Republic public holiday observed annually on May 5 in Kyrgyzstan.

In compensation for the aforementioned one-off bridge public holiday, the day of Saturday, May 14, 2011, has been declared a regular working day in Kyrgyzstan.

Having an extra bridge non-working public holiday compensated by declaring a weekend day as a regular working day is common in Kyrgyzstan (2011-02-28, 2010-10-07, 2010-08-25, 2010-02-15, 2009-12-11, 2008-12-19 and 2007-12-27).
