Macedonia Declares March 31 Public Holiday

The government of Macedonia has declared Thursday, March 31, 2011, as the 7th Tree-Planting national non-working public holiday.

This is the 7th such public holiday (2010-11-17, 2010-03-28, 2009-11-12, 2008-11-18, and 2008-03-12) since 2008. Usually one is held in the spring and one in the fall (although the spring 2009 tree planting day was held on a Saturday).

No date has yet been announced as a Saturday working day in compensation.
