Macedonia's Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has announced the declaration of Wednesday, November 23, 2011, as the 8th Tree-Planting national non-working public holiday.

This additional non-working public holiday will be compensated by the Saturday, November 26, 2011, having been declared a regular working day.

This is the 8th such public holiday (2011-03-28, 2010-11-17, 2010-03-28, 2009-11-12, 2008-11-18, and 2008-03-12) since 2008. Usually one is held in the spring and one in the fall (although the spring 2009 tree planting day was held on a Saturday).
