Madagascar's Présidence de la Haute Autorité de la Transition has issued a press communique officially declaring Tuesday, March 29, 2011, as an official paid public holiday (journée déclarée fériée, chômée et payée).
The aforementioned announcement is in line with the recently released (2011-01-15) official list of 2011 Madagascar public holidays, based upon the recommendation of Madagascar's Ministère de la Fonction publique, du Travail et des Lois sociales.
However, it does not make any reference to a bridge public holiday on Monday, March 28, 2011, which had been expected to be declared to bridge the one day gap between the coming weekend and the annual, March 29, public holiday, as had been done in past years (2009-01-13, 2008-01-16 and 2007-01-09).
