The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has declared a 3-day period of bank holidays, from Monday, November 7, until Wednesday, November 9, 2011, on the occasions of Eid-ul-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) and Iqbal Day non-working public holidays recently declared by the Government of Pakistan.

The details of the aforementioned announcements are contained in the "BPRD Circular Letter No. 23 of 2011" and the "BPRD Circular Letter No. 24 of 2011" released earlier today.

Late last week (29-Oct-2011), Pakistan's Ruet-e-Hilal committee had announced that the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha would be celebrated on Monday, November 7, 2011 in Pakistan, thus confirming the expected dates for public and optional holidays for the calendar year 2011 released earlier this year (03-Jan-2011) by Pakistan's Ministry of Interior, in consultation with Karachi's Meteorological Department.
