Pakistan's Ministry of Interior, in consultation with Karachi's Meteorological Department, issued the expected dates for public and optional holidays for the calendar year 2011.
The aforementioned announcement continues, for the second year (2009-12-24), the reduction of the Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) Muslim public holiday from 4 days (2009-11-20 and 2008-12-31), to the 2-day public holidays that was the norm before 2008 (2006-12-16).
